Motorola Atrix 4G and Apple iPhone 4 are two closely competing smartphones. Motorola Atrix 4G is an Android phone that runs on Android 2.2.1 (Froyo) with a promised upgrade to Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) while iPhone 4 runs iOS 4.2.1 which can be upgraded to the latest iOS 4.3. Motorola has emulated many iPhone features with its Motoblur in Atrix 4G. But when it comes to UX, Apple UI is better than Motoblur. However on the hardware side Motorola Atrix 4G is much superior to iPhone 4 and delivers faster and better performance. It’s packed with 4 inch display, 1GHz dual core processor, 1GB RAM and support Adobe Flash Player and compatible with high speed HSPA+ network. Apple iPhone features 3.5 inch display, 1GHz (850Mhz) A4 processor, 512MB RAM and no support for Adobe Flash Player.

Motorola Atrix 4G

The 11.5 inch laptop dock with full physical keyboard is built in with Mozila firefox browser and adobe flash player that allows a fast, seamless browsing in a large screen. It will also mirror your phone content on the large screen. You can connect to internet with Wi-Fi or the high speed HSPA+ network.

The other features include 5 megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash and capability of HD video recording at [email protected], front VGA camera (640×480 pixels) for video calling, internal memory of 16GB that can be expanded to 32GB using a memory card, HDMI port, microUSB port (HDMI cable and USB cable are included to the package). Video recording and play can increase to 1080p with OS upgrade to Android 2.3 or more. 1. Display – iPhone has Retina display with a resolution of 960 x640 and Atrix 4G has qHD PenTile LCD display with a resolution of 960 x 540. The resolutions are almost same but the Atrix 4G’s display is larger than iPhone, 4 inch and 3.5 inch respectively, so the ppi is better for Retina. Retina scores better than the PenTile LCD in Atrix 4G.

2. Performance – Atrix performs better with 1GHz dual core Tegra 2 chipset with GeForce ULV GPU and 1GB RAM compared to iPhone 4’s 850 MHz A4 chipset with SGX 535 GPU and 512MB RAM. Multitasking is smoother on Atrix 4G while iPhone 4 has limitations.
